It’s Time for Winter Driftboat Fishing

Frequently Asked Questions About Winter Driftboat Fishing

What is the best time of year for this type of adventure?
My favorite season for winter driftboat fishing is February, March, and the first couple of weeks of April. During this period, fishing is primarily a nymphing scenario, but there are also excellent opportunities for dry fly and streamer fishing with sinking lines.

Why a driftboat?
The driftboat allows us to fish in uncrowded waters and lets me position you and rig rods for the best chance of catching fish. It keeps you out of the water when temperatures are cold and gives adventurous anglers the chance to explore new stretches of river, searching for elusive trout.

If I am new to flyfishing, would this be a good trip for me?
Absolutely. I provide everything you need to start your flyfishing journey or to check something off your bucket list. At the same time, I can challenge even the most advanced anglers and am always happy for you to bring your favorite rod and fishing vest.
